Lower eyelid surgery is a cosmetic procedure tailored to reduce puffiness, remove under-eye bags, and smooth wrinkles or fine lines beneath the eyes. The procedure can also address loose or sagging skin in the under-eye area.
What is the Surgery?
This surgery is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia. On the day of your surgery, you’ll want to bring in a pair of dark sunglasses to help protect your eyes post-surgery. The surgery itself usually takes about two to three hours. Dr. Cohen utilizes advanced surgical techniques to minimize scarring, with incisions placed either just below the lower lash line or inside the lower eyelid, where they are well-hidden. The procedure will typically involve a combination of fat and skin removal, fat repositioning and skin tightening depending on the patient.
