Fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer, is a procedure that uses your own body’s fat to restore volume and contour to areas affected by aging, trauma, or cancer surgery. During the procedure, fat is carefully harvested from a donor area of your body, such as the abdomen or thighs, through liposuction.
A Personalized Procedure
Dr. Cohen begins addressing your case with a thorough consultation, where he will listen to your concerns, assess your goals, and develop a personalized surgical plan. He will explain the fat grafting process in detail, ensuring all your questions are answered. The fat grafting procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis. It will be done under general anesthesia, but you’ll be able to return to the comfort of your own home directly afterward. The duration of the surgery varies but usually takes about 2 hours.
